What do we do?
IFTAS offers personal guidance and assistance to foreigners and tourists, in case of a crime or accident.
As a victim you may deal with question such as:
How will my damage be paid?
What are my rights?
Is it normal that I react in this way?
What will happen to the offender?
IFTAS can give you an answer to these questions;
What is IFTAS going to do for you when you contact us?
You can come to IFTAS for free assistance with:
• Filing a report at the police station
• Requesting a Dutch interpreter when you are dealing with language barriers when reporting, doctors- or hospital visits, or other happenings
• Contacting family at home of travel companions by the phone
• Informing your insurance
• If necessary, providing you with shelter, clothing, or food
IFTAS offers you FREE support; you can
always call upon us whenever you are dealing with questions.
IFTAS will be there in the first place to help you breath
again. Your personal happening may have been emotionally so intense, that
you feel the need for a listening ear. In this way IFTAS
offers you the possibility to cope with the happening and to give your emotions
a place.
IFTAS will, together with you, check the steps need to be
taken to solve the problem, so that you can precede you stay in an orderly
fashion.
In case you cannot continue your traveling because of an intake to the hospital,
or other problems, IFTAS can in some cases offer you a way
to fill your day by means of, for example, a visit to the museum or a tour.
